Day 9
Well today was a bit of a set back for me. I woke up at 6:15 AM after sleeping poorly to make it to Georgetown for a meeting with the Bariatric Clinic and Dr. Smith's office. I was supposed to meet with the dietitian for post op diet tips and to get my drain tube removed. During the informational with the clinic's dietitian, I became very faint and light headed and had to leave the class to be attended to. This has happened before. I have to say that anxiety got to me again. I guess that and all the weight I lost, dehydration, and lack of sleep all contributed to my blood pressure being low. I had my tube removed by Dr. Smith's assistant and the staff at Georgetown Bariatric was so kind to me. I ultimately had to spend 2 hours getting a 1 L bag of fluids put into me by an IV. I still managed to get my 100 grams of protein in today by drinking 4 GNC Lean Shakes that contain 25 grams protein each. Today I started stage 2 of my post op diet which for the next 7 days means that on top of clear liquids I can add stuff like skim milk, cottage cheese, creamy soup, sugar free pudding, bananas. I took advantage by consuming some tomato soup made with skim milk.. Man I tell you it was the best tasting stuff I put in my mouth since before the surgery. I weighed myself and found that I weighed 331.8 lbs which is actually an increase of .8 lbs. I believe this was due to the 1 L of fluids that was placed in me today. I had dropped an impressive amount of weight..Perhaps just a tad overdone. But I am sure my weight will continue to drop. See you tomorrow!
